Attempting my first linky party!!!

So, I LOVE reading all about other teachers and wanted to join in on Bloghopper's fun!!!

So here are 10 random things about me....

1. I am totally obsessed with my sweet family! I married my high school sweetheart (we went to different high schools but met in youth group at church!) - he asked me to "couple up" in May 2001 and we have been together ever since!
We got married in June 2008
and welcomed our beautiful daughter, Madison, in October 2010!
God has beyond blessed me with these 2 perfect gifts!

2. I am beginning my second year teaching (woohoo - I survived the scary first one!!) and love it! I know I am truly doing what God has created me too! My hubby is also a teacher. He is a high school football and baseball coach!! There is nothing better than football on a cool crisp fall weather Friday night in Texas!! (High school football really is it's own religion here 🏈)

3. I am super lucky to have friendships that have lasted over 15 years! The friends I met as a teenager at church are STILL my best friends!

4. I have slowly started becoming a workout nut! My teammate has instilled a passion for working out in me! It is a FAB stress reliever!

5. I could literally eat Chick fil a and Gloria's every.single.day and be happy! The obsession I have for those 2 places is probably unhealthy! 😉

6. We have 1 dog, named Buddy, who is our second child. He is a lab/border collie mix. He is a HUGE baby though - def NOT the protective dog we were envisioning! (But he sure is cute!!)

7. I would love to travel!! I have only been to Hawaii, Mexico, Florida, North Carolina and Colorado! I have a crazy long list of everywhere else I wanna go!

8. Few of my favorite/must haves : Flip flops (especially my Nikes), chi straightener, anything glittery/blinged out (the gaudier the better!!!), sand volleyball, Dr. Pepper, sour patch watermelons, pedicures and my iPhone (I could NEVER live without it!!!)

9. Few things I hate : Wasps, spiders, super spicy food, the texture of sushi, feet touching me, when Coach responds "we'll see" - kills me!! ... and the worst = wooden spoons/spatulas! YUCK!

10. Most importantly, I am a child of God!  I have a personal relationship with Jesus and am beyond grateful for the many blessings He has given me!

...well that's a few random things about me! Link up too (it was pretty fun 😉)

July 23rd?!? Really?!?

I cannot believe July is almost over. The hubby officially started his new coaching job on Sunday! (We are BEYOND blessed with this new door that God has opened! I am so stinking excited for him!) oh, and I sure LOVE me some Texas High School Football, but forget how early he has to start up! We have been trying to soak up as much summer as we can this week, and man it has been busy! My sweet little Miss finished her very last swimming class Friday - she rocked it out!!! So proud of her! I can't wait to go play in the pool with her now!

I have been absorbing everything Daily 5 that I can possible find in other blogs. It really has become a little *obsession*! There are soooooo many amazing ideas, tips, and hints out there! Loving this blogging world for that very reason! Even though its my 2nd year, I still feel like a firstie again - so much fun to think of new ways to do/teach than last year. (I figure it will be year 15 before I feel like I have a grip on everything!) :)

Right now I am still trying to decide what activities I want to start the year with. Any best practices or absolute MUST have beginning of the year products I need? I love me some TpT, so let me know what you love, and I'll check it out!

Trying out this blogging thing...

I am really excited to start my blog! I have spent my very first summer doing LOTS of blog stalking and thought "maybe I should join the blog train" - so here it is! I am very pumped about following other teachers, learning from them, gaining awesome ideas to implement in my classroom and collaborate with other educators.

So, since this is my first blog I should tell some about myself...I just completed my first year teaching  first grade! It was such an incredible experience - I have been beyond blessed with an amazing administration and encouraging team! I learned soooo much this year and cannot wait for the Fall (but please Summer, do NOT go too quickly!!) I am planning on using the Daily 5 this year so that has been my focus on blogs and of course Pinterest!! (Greatest website EVER!) I love all the amazing tips and hints from others.

I can already tell it's gonna be a great year and I am going to enjoy blogging and reflecting on all the excitement happening in Fabulous Room 4!!!
